The Immersion Series: Translating The Underwater Experience
This new body of work is a visual interpretation of the exploration and feeling of immersion in the underwater world in which one becomes part of the momentum that stays perfectly spaced, never intrusive, flowing in a consistent movement of balanced harmony and free never ending motion.
All of the designs portray continuous but fixed moving patterns and forms that coexist seamlessly separate but always evolving in the vast quiet expanse as a whole.
The organic forms are minimally abstracted and not exact representations of marine life. They symbolize the effect of easy simple movement to better represent the underwater experience. Keen detailed observation did not resonate in those transformative moments but it was more like being lifted in motion swirling and watching the passing of aquatic life in all its harmony sweeping away the distractions of the world above almost like a dream state.
The visual effect of the work evokes a relaxed and calm therapeutic focus. The designs swim and weightlessly float forever suspended in a moment of visual tranquility. These original prints provide a place for the eye to wander into a momentary escape and an opportunity to disconnect from the world long enough to just breathe.
